I hope you all had fun kicking off the summer this weekend! I also hope you stuck to last week's tip and incorporated lots of lemon into your routine.

Now it is time to kick it up another notch, because lets face it, it is a short week and you will be back in your bathing suits in no time. So let's get to it with some sweet facts on pineapple.

This sweet fruit is packed with vitamins, minerals and my personal favorite it flights inflammation and aids in digestion, take that stubborn bloat.

Let's break down some benefits:

  1. Improves Digestion - Bromelain, found in pineapples works to neutralize fluids to ensure that they are not too acidic. It also helps regulate the secretions in the pancreas to aid in digestion.

  2. Promotes Good Health - Pineapples are loaded with vitamins and minerals including vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium. It is also rich in fiber and calories. On top of it all, this fruit is low in fat and cholesterol. All the nutrients it contains promote goodhealth.

  3. Strong Bones & Healthy Gums - Pineapples are popular for their ability to build and maintain strong bones. This fruit contains manganese, which is a trace mineral that your body needs to build bones and connective tissues. In fact, if you consume just one cup of pineapple, you can already get 73 percent of your total body requirement for manganese. Thats not all, eating pineapple will strengthen your gums which will help keep your teeth healthy and strong.

  4. Aids in Alleviating Arthritis - Since these fruits have anti-inflammatory qualities, eating pineapples can greatly alleviate the pain of arthritis while at the same time improve the condition by strengthening the bones.

Now that we know the benefits, how do we add his to our summer diet you may ask? Well here are some ideas for you.
