Growing up, I did not live in the house you want to go to for snacks. We had lots of fun, but little snacks. Snacking consisted of hard pretzels and cherry tomatoes. Funny enough these are still two of my favorite snacks that I load up on at the farmer's market regularly.
Well anyway, now that I am craving a pretzel lets get back to the healthy stuff... tomatoes.
Cherry, heirloom, grape, plum, vine no matter the type you can't go wrong.
Studies have shown that tomatoes can lower cholesterol, as well as reduce blood pressure and maintain healthy cellular growth (meaning it can help you have healthier hair, nails and skin). Tomatoes also contain the antioxidant lycopene, which may help prevent certain cancers.
Check out some of my favorite tomato recipes and add these sweet snacks to your day.
