Summer Cold Got you Down?

This time of year it is easy to catch a cold. We are outside sweating and walk inside to air conditioning. When working out and sweating indoors the air is usually blasting. The days have been rainy and humid and eventually this can take a toll on our bodies and as a health coach I am not safe either.

I am going to share with you my tools for success to kill those colds not only in summer but all year long!

1. Manuka Honey - It may cost you a little more money then the copay at your doctors office but it is well worth the price when it comes to your body. Antibiotics strip the gut of healthy bacteria and the body can also become immune to them calling for higher doses. In women antibiotics often lead to yeast overgrowth and more medication. Enter Manuka honey, produced in New Zealand this stuff is one of the best (in my opinion) natural antibiotics. Honey can repair tissue damaged by infection, has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and much more. Get this, after 3 days and 3 Tbsp of honey a day my sore throat and sinus pain were a distant memory.  Don't believe me? Try it out yourself your body will thank you!

2. Dandelion Tea - When you think of Dandelion you often think of those flowers growing in a field that you blow on. Well guess what those fun little flowers are even more powerful then that wish you make on them. Not only does this powerful tea purify the blood and cleanse the system but it also aids in digestion and detoxification and much much more.  

3. Ashwagandha -  Similar to Ginseng in Chinese Medicine, Ashwagandha  in Ayurvedic. This little guy will kick your candida to the curb, it will destroy fungus and ultimately increase your energy level. On other news it will help with bloating, gas and even sexual energy!
